Straw Bale Building Course – Terms, Conditions and Refund Policy

Terms & Conditions:

Refunds
We understand that sometimes circumstances change and you may not be able to attend a course that you have paid for. Refunds are available as long as you notify us at least 21 days prior to the commencement of the course, your options are:
1) A refund of your course fee, less an administration fee of $75,
2) A credit of the full amount towards any future course, within the next 12 months.
Refunds and credits cannot be guaranteed for cancellations less than 21 days from the event.

Participant Declaration
By registering to participate in the Straw Bale Building Course you agree to the following terms
and conditions:
In this declaration ‘organisers’ shall mean: Australian Rural Education Centre and Viva Homes.
The ‘Course’ shall mean the 3 day Straw Bale Building Course held at the Australian Rural
Education Centre.

Instructions & Conduct: I will at all times comply with the instructions and safety procedures of
the Organisers. I understand that my participation may be terminated at the discretion of the
Organisers should I fail to adhere to the instructions and safety procedures provided. I
understand that the course may involve physical exertion and it is a requirement that I not be
affected by drugs or alcohol. I do not have any physical restrictions that will prevent me from
safely undertaking the training.

Release & Indemnity:
I understand that parts of the course involve construction type activities and that there are
hazards involved, with the use of tools, materials, lifting, use of alkaline materials, uneven ground and other hazards involved in the training.
My participation in the course is entirely at my own risk and I agree to the extent permitted by law to:
a. Release and forever discharge the Organisers from all liability and Claims that I have or may
have had but for this release arising from or in connection with my participation in the Course;
and b. Indemnify and hold harmless the Organisers to the extent permitted by law in respect of
any Claim by any person including but not only another participant in the Course arising as a
result of or in connection with my participation in the Course.
In this clause “Claims” means and includes any action, suit, proceeding, claim, demand,
damage, cost or expense however arising including but not limited to negligence but does not
include a claim against the Organisers under any right expressly conferred by their respective
constitutions or regulations.
Personal Belongings: The organisers do not accept responsibility for participants’ personal
belongings before, during or after the course. Loss, damage or theft or personal belongings is
each participant’s responsibility.
Use of facilities.
I understand that the course provider has given permission for camping and use of amenities and kitchen facilities and that I use these facilities at my own risk.
I give an undertaking that I am authorised to make this declaration for myself and any person
under the age of 18 years that is registered with me on the course.

I understand that I will be asked to complete the waiver form at the commencement of the course.
